The following is in the process of being done or to be done over the next couple of months.
Background research
Looking at what else is being done currently by others
Looking at what is being talked about being done by others
Looking at press coverage on the topic, going back some years.
Research by contacting others
Press requests in some area, via the Self Build Homes Club, looking to identify where interest is greatest.
Letters/questionnaires to all councils asking what they are doing or proposing to do
Letters to building societies and other funding sources to get their reactions.
Letters to relevant governments departments asking to be kept informed of proposals or actions taking place.
Emergency housing and homes for the homeless
New area added due to public requests, now on its own website at www.affordable-homes-project.org
Later
Public presentations and meetings in selected areas to gain more reaction
Joint venture invitations to developers, housing associations and others
Style research to help identify the decisions on a build where cost can be cut, and cutting costs by design and build method decisions.
More will be added as we move forward, the areas being identified in part from earlier research and in part by available resources and interest.
